Peach wood mala bracelets carry one of Buddhism’s most complete mantras, carved directly into the grain. This piece is held not only for its weight but for the words it bears: Om Mani Padme Hum, six syllables worn close to the pulse.
Peach wood holds a particular place in Chinese and Tibetan material culture. In classical Chinese tradition, the peach tree is associated with longevity and protective power, its wood used for centuries in household objects and amulets. Om Mani Padme Hum is the primary mantra of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, inscribed on prayer wheels, stones, and temple walls from Nepal to Mongolia. The union of peach wood and mantra places this bracelet within a lineage of objects made to accompany daily life and formal practice alike.
The beads are turned from solid peach wood, each approximately 10mm in diameter, their surface lightly sanded to bring out the grain without lacquer or coating. The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is engraved into a single accent bead or distributed across the strand, depending on the piece. The wood is warm to the touch, noticeably lighter than stone, with a faint natural scent that deepens slightly with wear. The bracelet is strung on durable elastic cord and requires no clasp.
