Mala beads have been counted and worn in Buddhist and Hindu traditions for more than two thousand years, the bracelet form adapted from the full 108-bead mala for daily wear. This design draws from Tibetan Buddhist practice, where amethyst has long been used in concentrated meditation. The stone is sourced from Himalayan foothills deposits and cut by artisans in Jaipur, India, whose gem-cutting heritage spans five centuries. Traditional hand-knotted spacing between beads follows the original construction method.

Each bracelet carries 27 beads at 8mm diameter, the traditional quarter-mala count suited to a single wrist wrap. The amethyst is polished to reveal natural banding, inclusions, and the stone’s characteristic color variation from pale lavender to deep violet. Beads are threaded on waxed silk cord and hand-knotted between each stone, preventing loss and allowing a natural drape. A single knotted loop closes the design without metal components. Circumference fits most adult wrists at 17 to 19 centimetres. Weight: approximately 18 grams.
