Description

The labradorite stone mala bracelet brings the mineral’s most distinctive quality directly to the wrist: labradorescence, the deep iridescent shift between teal, gold, and violet that no surface treatment can replicate. Each bead presents this optical effect at a different angle, making the bracelet a continuously changing surface in wear.

The beads are hand-selected natural labradorite, each approximately 8 millimetres in diameter, polished to a smooth dome that maximises the adularescent flash. The strand is strung on elastic cord, sized to fit wrists between 16 and 18 centimetres without a clasp, and carries between 18 and 22 beads depending on exact wrist measurement. Total weight is approximately 25 to 30 grams. Bead sizes from 7 mm to 14 mm are available; contact customer service for custom sizing.

This bracelet is worn directly against the skin, where movement through different light angles brings out the flash in each stone. It layers well with other mala bracelets or can be worn alone as a single-stone piece. No clasp means it slips on and off without adjustment.

The mala format originates in South Asian contemplative practice, where a strand of beads served as a tactile anchor during focused states, counted through the fingers in repetition. The labradorite used in this bracelet is sourced from Madagascar and China, where lapidaries have worked the material for generations. The combination of the northern mineral’s optical properties and the South Asian bead tradition gives this bracelet two distinct lineages in a single form.

Is labradorite fragile? It rates 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, making it more durable than most bead stones but still sensitive to hard impact. Remove before contact sports or heavy manual work; the polish and elasticity of the cord will outlast the stone if handled with moderate care.
