Description

The moonstone and blue tiger’s eye mala bracelet brings three distinct stone surfaces together on a single knotted strand. Moonstone’s adularescent shimmer, blue tiger’s eye’s golden-blue chatoyancy, and apatite’s clean blue-green color create a bracelet that reads differently at every angle and in every light.

The bracelet carries 27 beads, each 8 millimetres in diameter (10 mm also available), strung on braided elastic with Buddhist knotting between each bead. Moonstone beads, sourced from Sri Lanka, show a visible shimmer that shifts under directional light. Blue tiger’s eye from South Africa, a silicified crocidolite, carries a golden-blue chatoyancy, the surface appearing to move as the angle changes. Apatite beads from Brazil or Madagascar are consistent blue-green without optical effect. A sandalwood marker bead identifies the start of the count. The bracelet fits wrists from 16 to 25 centimetres; custom sizing is available on request.

Wear this bracelet directly against the skin to appreciate the optical differences between the three stones as your wrist moves through different light conditions. The 27-bead count follows the mala tradition of dividing the canonical 108 into four equal sections, each suitable for a cycle of repetition. The marker bead at the start signals the beginning and end of a count.

The mala bracelet format condenses the traditional 108-bead mala, used across Hindu and Buddhist practice as a counting tool for mantra repetition, into a wrist-worn form. The three stones in this bracelet each carry long histories in crystal and contemplative traditions across Asia: moonstone in Vedic astrology, tiger’s eye in Chinese protective practices, and apatite as a focus stone in Tibetan healing arts.

How do I care for a bracelet with mixed stones? Wipe the beads with a soft damp cloth after wear; avoid soaking in water, which can weaken the elastic over time. Moonstone and apatite are softer than quartz-family stones and should be stored separately from harder minerals to avoid surface scratching.
