Description
The Moonstone Mala Bracelet with Tree of Life charm is an elastic-strung bracelet featuring natural moonstone beads paired with a double-faced silver-tone alloy Tree of Life charm, designed for wrist wear and rooted in both Buddhist mala and broader contemplative traditions. It fits wrists of approximately 17 to 19 cm.
The bracelet is strung with natural moonstone beads of 8 mm diameter, approximately 18 to 20 beads per bracelet depending on wrist size, on a stretch elastic cord for easy on and off. Moonstone from Sri Lanka and India is used, selected for its characteristic blue-white adularescence — the optical phenomenon that produces the stone’s internal floating glow. The Tree of Life charm is silver-tone alloy, double-faced, with the tree motif worked on both sides, and sits as the focal bead at the center of the bracelet.
Wear on either wrist, alone or stacked with other bracelets. The stretch cord requires no clasp and accommodates slight variations in wrist circumference through the day. Moonstone is a relatively soft stone (Mohs 6 to 6.5) and benefits from being stored away from harder gemstones that could scratch the surface; a soft cloth pouch is ideal.
Moonstone has been prized in South Asian and Mediterranean jewelry traditions for millennia, named for the blue sheen thought to resemble moonlight, and associated in Ayurvedic and folk traditions with cooling, calming properties linked to lunar cycles. The Tree of Life symbol appears across multiple Asian, European, and Middle Eastern traditions as an emblem of connection, growth, and the interdependence of all living systems — its inclusion here bridges devotional and decorative meanings within a single wearable object.
Is the moonstone in this bracelet natural or synthetic? The moonstones used are natural stones sourced from Sri Lanka and India, not glass or synthetic imitations. Natural moonstone exhibits adularescence — a soft internal glow that shifts as the stone moves — whereas glass moonstone imitations have a fixed, uniform sheen. The difference is visible to the naked eye in good light.
