Description
Three small figures carved from pine stand together, faintly scented with resin and worn smooth where the wood grain runs deepest.
Guanyin, known in Chinese as Guanshiyin Pusa, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, one of the most venerated figures across East and Southeast Asian Buddhist practice. Her name translates as “One Who Perceives the Sounds of the World.” She is traditionally depicted flanked by two attendants and appears in household shrines across China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, representing protection, mercy, and unconditional care. Her iconography spans more than a thousand years of Buddhist devotional art across the continent.
This set of three figures is hand-carved from pine wood by craftspeople working in a traditional carving practice. The central figure depicts Guanyin in a posture of composed presence; her two attendants stand at either side. Each piece is shaped individually, and the natural grain of the pine remains visible on all three finished surfaces.
The set contains three individual figures carved from pine wood. Exact dimensions were not specified in this listing; buyers should confirm measurements before purchase. As handcrafted pieces, minor variations between sets are to be expected. Country of origin: China.
The three figures are designed for display as a group. They are suited to a home altar, a dedicated shelf, or any interior that draws on East Asian devotional aesthetics.
