Taoist healers stored medicine inside dried gourd shells, and the form became synonymous with health and long life. In the Qing dynasty, silver Wu Lou pendants were gifted to officials as tokens of blessing. Artisans in Yunnan continue engraving this form by hand in sterling silver, maintaining proportions and chisel techniques from classical workshop tradition.

This pendant is cast and hand-finished in solid S925 sterling silver, hallmarked for purity. The gourd form measures approximately 2.5 cm in height and 1.5 cm at its widest point, weighing roughly 6 to 8 grams: enough presence to be felt without pull.
