Description
Huángshān Máofēng, one of China’s most celebrated green teas, cultivated for over 300 years in the Huángshān (Yellow Mountains) of Anhui Province.
The name translates to “Fuzzy Peak of the Yellow Mountains,” a reference to the downy young buds harvested each spring. This single-origin, certified organic tea (ISO 22000:2005) is picked at peak season from first buds and the first leaf, a selective harvest that yields a delicate, nuanced flavour.
In the cup, the liquor is clear with pale golden tones. The taste is fresh and vegetal, with mineral notes, hints of roasted chestnut, and subtle floral undertones of white flowers and orchid. Well-balanced with a gentle sweetness and a clean finish, it is low in caffeine and easy to drink at any time of day.
Brewing guide:
- Recommended water temperature: 80°C
- Small cup (10 cl): approx. 2 g, up to 4 infusions
- Mug (20 cl): approx. 4 g, up to 4 infusions
- Teapot or pitcher (50 cl): approx. 10 g, up to 4 infusions
