Huángshān Máofēng has been cultivated in the Yellow Mountains of Anhui Province, China, for over three hundred years. It ranks consistently among the ten most celebrated teas in China, a status tied to the specific altitude, granite soil, and misty microclimate of the Huángshān range. The name translates literally to Fuzzy Peak of the Yellow Mountains, a direct reference to the downy buds harvested each spring from bushes that benefit from cool temperatures and mineral-rich ground.

This is a single-origin, certified organic tea harvested at the peak of spring from the first bud and the first unfurled leaf of each shoot. Hand-picked to preserve the natural down on each bud, the leaves are processed by traditional methods that result in the tea’s characteristic pale golden liquor, mild vegetal sweetness, and delicate floral finish. Certification is held to ISO 22000:2005 food safety standards.
