Description
Natural oud wood wellness infusion is an herbal tea made from dried aquilaria leaves, hand-harvested each spring from mature trees in the highland forests of Vietnam and Laos. Unlike incense or essential oil derived from the resinous heartwood, this infusion uses the leaf of the same tree, producing a pale gold liquor with a clean woody finish and no bitterness. It is caffeine-free, sugar-free, and made without additives or artificial flavoring.
Each pack contains whole and broken dried aquilaria leaves, pale green to amber in color, with a slight resinous sheen from the natural oils retained in the leaf. The leaves are harvested by hand in spring, dried in open air without chemical treatment, and packaged without preservatives. This is a single-origin product, preserving the character of a specific forest region rather than blending across harvests. Net weight is 150 grams, packed in 30 individual sachets of 5 grams each. Shelf life is 24 months from production.
To prepare, steep one sachet in one liter of water heated to 80 degrees Celsius for approximately 4 minutes. The resulting liquor is pale gold with amber reflections and a long finish with a very light return of licorice. The infusion is light and caffeine-free, suitable for consumption at any time of day. Avoid drinking during pregnancy. The metal tin with individual sachets keeps the aromatic oils intact between uses.
In Vietnamese traditional medicine and in certain Middle Eastern practices, the aquilaria tree has been used therapeutically for centuries. The leaves and wood are associated with digestive support, relaxation, and general restorative properties. The scent of the brewed infusion carries the same woody, slightly resinous character that has made oud one of the most valued aromatic materials in Asia and the Gulf region. This leaf infusion represents a lesser-known use of the same botanical, distinct from the ceremonial incense tradition.
A common buyer question: is this the same as oud essential oil or oud incense? No. This infusion uses dried aquilaria leaves, not the resinous heartwood that produces oud oil or incense. The flavor is woody and mild, not heavy or resinous. It is a drinkable herbal infusion, not an aromatic product.
