Description
The Guan silver plated pendant opens in the hand as a dense, double-sided medallion: one face bearing Guan Yu in full martial relief, the other the Om symbol in clean incised line. The metal is cool, the detail precise.
Guan Yu, the Han Dynasty general deified across subsequent centuries, holds a singular place in Chinese culture: revered in Confucian temples, Taoist shrines, and Buddhist halls alike, he is patron of soldiers, merchants, and those who prize integrity above advantage. The Om symbol, foundational to both Hindu and Buddhist practice, entered Chinese Buddhist iconography through the transmission of tantric teaching from India through Tibet into the broader Sinosphere. Placing both on a single pendant is a statement of cultural fluency, not contradiction.
Cast in zinc alloy and plated to a 999 fine-silver standard, this pendant measures approximately 40mm in height and 30mm in width. Plating depth is sufficient for long wear without tarnishing under normal conditions. The obverse carries Guan Yu in his characteristic posture, holding the Green Dragon Crescent Blade; the reverse shows the Om in raised relief. An integrated bail accepts cord or chain. Weight runs 18 to 20 grams, with presence proportionate to its iconography.
