Description

An amitabha buddha statue in yellow copper arrives already settled, already complete. Cast in the posture of meditation, hands resting in the dhyana mudra, this figure holds stillness in a form suited to a desk, a shelf, or an altar corner.

Amitabha, the Buddha of Boundless Light, holds a central place in Mahayana Buddhist practice across China, Tibet, Japan, and Vietnam. His iconography was established in Sanskrit sutras translated into Chinese by the second century CE, and his image has been rendered by Himalayan and East Asian artisans in bronze, brass, and gilt copper ever since. This statue follows the Tibeto-Nepali casting tradition, where yellow copper, a brass alloy valued for its warm golden tone, is the preferred material for Amitabha figures, whose realm is associated with light and the western direction.

Available in four sizes: 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, and 25 cm. Each figure is cast by hand using the lost-wax method, then cold-painted and gilded at selected details: crown, face, and lotus throne. The surface carries a warm matte amber tone with burnished highlights. The integrated lotus base adds approximately 2 cm to the stated height. Weight ranges from approximately 300 g at 10 cm to 1.8 kg at 25 cm. Each piece varies slightly in finishing detail.
