Description

The Amitabha Buddha Pendant in Citrine is a hand-carved devotional pendant featuring a seated figure of Amitabha Buddha in moderate relief, cut from 100% natural untreated citrine quartz by Himalayan lapidaries. Measuring approximately 2.5 cm in height (48 x 30 x 21 mm), it is worn as a wearable sacred object or carried as a personal item of faith.

The citrine is natural and untreated — no heat treatment or irradiation has been applied to alter its color, preserving the stone’s original warm yellow to honey-gold transparency. The Amitabha figure is carved in seated position with fine chisel marks visible at the face and hands, where the relief detail requires the most precision. The bail is hand-drilled directly through the stone at the crown of the pendant, maintaining structural integrity, and the piece comes with a waxed cotton cord necklace ready to wear.

Wear the pendant on the supplied cord at chest level. In Pure Land Buddhist practice, Amitabha is invoked through recitation of his name (nianfo); wearing his image is a continuous reminder of that practice. The pendant is also suitable for display on a small altar stand or held during seated recitation. The natural citrine requires no special care beyond keeping it away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can gradually lighten the stone’s color over years.

Amitabha — the Buddha of Infinite Light — presides over Sukhavati, the Pure Land of the west, one of the most widely practiced devotional fields in East Asian Mahayana Buddhism. His iconography is defined by the dhyana mudra (hands resting in the lap) and warm golden-amber color associations, making natural citrine an iconographically appropriate material choice. Himalayan lapidaries in Nepal and northern India have worked sacred carving traditions in quartz and gemstone for centuries, supplying devotional objects across the Buddhist world.

How can I tell if the citrine is genuinely untreated? Untreated natural citrine has a pale to medium honey yellow with subtle internal inclusions and slight color zoning; treated amethyst sold as citrine is typically a saturated burnt orange with a uniform color and glassy clarity. The stones used in this pendant fall within the natural citrine color range and are sourced with that specification from the lapidary workshop.
