Description
The figure stands with authority, every detail of face, beard, and armor rendered in dense, weighty silver by a craftsman’s hand.
Guanyu was a military general of the Eastern Han dynasty whose deeds were documented in historical records and later amplified in the fourteenth-century novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Over centuries he was elevated to near-divine status in Chinese religious and folk tradition, becoming associated with martial virtue, civil loyalty, and the protection of households and businesses. In Feng Shui practice, his image is placed facing the entrance of a building to repel harmful influences. He is venerated across Chinese communities worldwide, appearing in temples, storefronts, and private shrines.
This pendant is handcrafted from solid S925 sterling silver, an alloy that is 92.5 percent pure silver, by a master silversmith working from traditional methods. Guanyu is depicted in full warrior’s regalia, with fine surface detail worked into the robes, armored chest, long beard, and facial expression. The pendant is solid rather than hollow, giving it a weight that registers clearly when worn.
Dimensions are not specified in this listing. The pendant is stamped S925 and does not include a chain. Sterling silver at this grade develops a natural patina with wear and can be polished with a soft cloth to restore its original brightness. Country of origin: China.
Guanyu pendants are traditionally given to mark occasions of protection, loyalty, or significant business decisions. This piece is made to be worn daily or kept as a displayed object.
