Each of the three statuettes is hand-carved from hardwood by an individual artisan, not cast or pressed from a mold. The figures stand in distinct postures, differentiated by the position of the hands and the arrangement of draped robes. Surface detailing — facial features, fabric folds, the articulation of the fingers — is worked directly into the wood with carving tools. The finish is smooth to the touch.
