Description
Some objects change state in the hands. Not in the eyes.
This sterling silver S925 prayer wheel pendant was hand-forged by a Tibetan artisan. It opens, inside, a scroll bearing the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, placed there during crafting. You can add your own intention.
The S925 sterling silver comes from Lhasa. It is there that Tibetan artisans maintain the tradition of the miniature prayer wheel pendant: forming the cylinders by hand, incising the engravings with a burin, folding the scrolls to the exact width of the cylinder. There is no mould. This piece-by-piece production explains the slight variations you will notice on the surface. A fractional asymmetry in the cylinder. An engraved groove a millimetre deeper on one side. These are the marks of the hand. Not a flaw. Evidence that no two pieces are exactly the same.
To activate the mantra, turn the cylinder clockwise. This gesture, repeated, grounded, is what makes the prayer wheel a transition tool rather than decorative jewelry.
The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum contains six syllables. In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, each corresponds to one of the six realms of existence: Om purifies pride, Ma jealousy, Ni passion, Pad ignorance, Me greed, Hum hatred. Turning the wheel, reciting the mantra, or simply holding the object activates this recitation, even for those who have not yet learned the syllables by memory. This is why these pendants are worn by novice practitioners and experienced meditators alike.
A few seconds before you begin. A few seconds to mark the end. The deep settle understands the difference.
The lotus flower engraved on the silver is a symbol of clarity, what rises without being marked by what it moved through. S925 sterling silver develops a slight patina over time with skin contact. That is normal. It means the object is alive.
To integrate the gesture into daily life: wear the pendant against the skin on the 45cm chain. Before a moment that demands clarity, take the cylinder between thumb and forefinger. Turn clockwise. Three rotations are enough to mark a transition. There is no fixed number prescribed by tradition for everyday non-ceremonial use. What matters is repeating the gesture at the same moment each day. The body learns the signal quickly.
Comes with a 45cm necklace chain.

Why this object belongs in your space.
The prayer wheel is not jewellery in the ordinary sense. It is a tool for presence, hand-forged in Lhasa, silver-finished by hand, engraved with the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra on every face. A few seconds of clockwise rotation is enough to re-anchor attention. Not as an exercise. As a physical reminder that clarity already exists, and that this object returns you to it. It is the piece through which everything restarted for us, and the one at the centre of every Sanctuary we build.
