The stone settles into the palm like a smooth, river-worn weight — an egg-shaped form, cool at first contact and warming gradually, that fills the hand with a quiet, satisfying solidity.
This aventurine originates from the Deccan Plateau of India, one of the world’s principal sources of the material. The region has supported lapidary craft for centuries, with rough green quartzite worked and traded through gem centers in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Indian artisans have refined the technique of shaping and polishing aventurine into collectible forms distributed across global stone markets.
The egg-form stone is cut from green aventurine, a variety of quartzite characterized by densely packed fuchsite mica inclusions. These platelets of reflective mineral catch and scatter light as the stone turns, producing the optical shimmer known as aventurescence. A high polish brings out a translucent green body that ranges from pale celadon to deeper forest green, shifting in tone depending on the angle and intensity of light.
This palm stone measures approximately 4 to 5 centimeters along its longest axis and typically weighs between 45 and 75 grams. It is presented as a loose stone without cord, setting, or pendant hardware. Material: green aventurine quartzite with fuchsite mica inclusions. Origin: Deccan Plateau, India.
