Natural green aventurine abundance stone: a palm-sized piece of quartzite whose aventurescence shifts with the angle of light. The surface is smooth from careful polishing. The green varies from jade-pale to forest deep within a single piece.
Aventurine is a variety of quartzite distinguished by fuchsite mica inclusions, which produce the characteristic shimmer known as aventurescence. The finest deposits are found in India, particularly in the Deccan Plateau region, where artisans have carved and polished gemstone objects for trade since the sixteenth century. Green aventurine from these sources is recognized for its color consistency and mica density. Palm stones are shaped on lapidary wheels, progressing through successively finer abrasives until the surface reaches its final polish.
This palm stone measures approximately 4 to 5 centimeters in diameter and 1.5 centimeters in depth, shaped to rest comfortably against the thumb without gripping. The weight falls between 40 and 60 grams depending on individual piece density: enough to register in the hand without fatigue. The polished face is entirely smooth, the underside convex for ergonomic contact. Color ranges from consistent mid-green to stones showing natural banding and variation. Each piece is selected for absence of visible fracture lines and uniformity of surface finish.
