Description
A mystica rose sand storm pendant holds a miniature landscape inside a sealed resin dome. The pale rose tones shift with the light, the fine sand suspended in a medium that catches and releases clarity each time the piece is moved.
The Mystica series is produced by a small workshop specializing in micro-landscape craft, a genre with roots in Chinese literati culture, where miniature representations of natural landscapes, known as penjing, were cultivated as objects for contemplation. The rose sand storm effect draws on the long tradition of encapsulated natural materials, combining fine mineral pigment with resin to create a scene that is never quite the same twice. Each piece in the Mystica series is individually made; no two are identical.
The pendant housing is cast from clear resin, allowing the interior landscape to be viewed from multiple angles. A turned sandalwood base anchors it, dense and warm against the hand, carrying the faint scent of the wood. The pale rose mineral tones inside the dome are sealed in suspension and will not settle or shift over time. Each piece measures approximately 3cm at its widest point. A cord is included for wearing or for placing the pendant on a surface.
