Mystica Red Desert Pendant

Description

The mystica red desert pendant holds a world in miniature. Warm ochre and burnt sienna layers rest beneath a clear resin dome, catching light the way a desert floor catches the last hour before dusk.

The Mystica series draws from the tradition of miniature landscape art practiced across Central and Southeast Asia, where artisans have long enclosed captured environments within small vessels and talismans. Each piece begins with raw pigments and fine mineral sediments, layered by hand to recreate the stratigraphy of arid terrain. Sandalwood, harvested from managed groves across South and Southeast Asia, serves as the base: prized for centuries in Buddhist and Hindu ceremonial objects for its grain density and its faint, lasting fragrance.

The resin dome measures approximately 25mm in diameter and sits on a sandalwood base cut to roughly 30mm across. The resin is poured in multiple passes to build depth without bubbles, a process that takes several days per batch. The sandalwood underside is sanded smooth and left unsealed to allow its natural fragrance to continue releasing over years of wear. A sterling silver bail connects the piece to any chain up to 4mm wide. Total pendant weight is approximately 8 grams.
