Description

Luxury Oud Wood Backflow Incense Cones are made from naturally aged aquilaria agarwood resin sourced from Vietnam, free from synthetic compounds, and designed specifically for backflow incense holders that draw smoke downward in a visible cascading stream. Each cone burns for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, releasing the deep, resinous fragrance of genuine oud.

Each cone stands approximately 3 cm tall with a 1.5 cm base diameter and features a hollow channel through its core — the structural element that enables the backflow effect by allowing cooler air to draw smoke downward rather than upward. The agarwood resin used is sourced from naturally aged aquilaria trees in Vietnam, with no synthetic fragrance compounds, binders, or charcoal extenders added. Available in boxes of 20, 35, or 90 cones.

Place one cone tip-down in the backflow holder’s cup so the hollow channel aligns with the holder’s airflow vent. Light the tip, allow it to catch for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame. Smoke will begin to flow downward within 30 to 60 seconds. Use in a still indoor environment away from air conditioning vents or open windows, as air movement disrupts the cascade. Burn on a heat-safe surface.

Oud, derived from the resin-saturated heartwood of aquilaria trees, is among the oldest and most valued aromatic substances in Asian and Middle Eastern tradition, referenced in Sanskrit texts, Chinese pharmacopeias, and Islamic devotional practice for over a thousand years. Vietnamese agarwood (tram huong) is particularly prized for its balanced resinous profile — less animalic than Cambodian varieties, with a cooler, woody depth that suits contemplative and domestic use equally.

Do these cones work with any backflow holder, or only specific designs? The hollow channel is a standard diameter compatible with the vast majority of backflow holders on the market. The critical variable is airflow: the holder must have an open vent beneath the cup that connects to ambient air. Decorative holders without a through-channel will not produce the cascade effect regardless of the cone used.
