The hand braided tibetan bracelet arrives as a quiet presence. Cord laid over cord in blue, grey, and green, the braid carries the texture of mountain craft and the cool palette of high altitude light, worn close and felt before it is seen.
Tibetan braided bracelets have been produced in the highland regions of Tibet for centuries, drawing on nomadic textile traditions where braiding carried both practical and symbolic weight. The palette of blue, grey, and green aligns with values in Tibetan Buddhist iconography: blue for open sky, green for the living world, grey for stillness. Bracelets of this type were exchanged as gestures of goodwill, tied at the wrist during transitions. The craft has passed through oral tradition in small workshops across the plateau.
The bracelet is hand-braided from waxed cotton or polyester cord in three tones: blue, grey, and green. The braid is tight and even, approximately 6 to 8mm in width, with a finished diameter sized for an average adult wrist. Closure is achieved through a sliding adjustable knot, allowing the bracelet to fit a range of wrist sizes without mechanical hardware. Total length when fully extended is approximately 28 to 32cm. The cord carries no dyes that bleed under normal wear conditions.
