Description

A handcrafted boxwood statue of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, depicted standing on a lotus flower, a reference to the Lotus Sutra, one of the most revered teachings in Mahayana Buddhism.

Known across Asia by many names, Guanshiyin Pusa in Chinese, Kwun Yum in Hong Kong, Kwannon or Kanzeon in Japan, Kuan Eim in Thailand, Guanyin is one of the most universally recognized figures in Buddhist iconography. She is a symbol of compassion, protection, and boundless love. In Chinese tradition and Feng Shui practice, Guanyin statues are placed in the home to invite a sense of protection and positive presence.

This statue is carved entirely by hand from natural boxwood by master craftspeople. The fine-grained wood allows for precise, detailed work and gives the piece a warm, natural finish.
